ArtShare funding  Reply with quote

http://capwiz.com/artsusa/az/go/azartshare

As you have read in the paper, the Arizona House and Senate have negotiated a budget deal that they will attempt to send to the Governor.

We are very pleased that the $5 million that we have requested to complete the ArtShare funding (the other $2 million are already in the budget for the annual deposit) are in this budget bill as a revenue trigger.

A „revenue trigger‰ simply means that if the state surpasses its budget goals for the year, the ArtShare funding would be completed.

This represents a victory for the arts community˜but it‚s important that your state Senators. Representatives, and the Governor hear from you immediately. They must hear that this funding is a priority for the voters in their communities.

This is the time for action! Please take a couple of minutes to call, fax or email your elected officials, and pass this message on to others.

And as always, if you hear back from your elected officials on this issue, please report your findings to lisle@AzActionfortheArts.org or 602-253-6535.

Take a few minutes to write a letter, make a call, send an e mail. It is so very important that you act now. We cannot afford to let this success fail for lack of support.

Sincerely,

Lisle Soukup
