ok this is where i started to get into different subject matter. I love diagrams and their instructional value and i was using alot of anatomy diagrams but for this piece i began to reference airplane brochures. So i just love their serene quality amidst what they are attempting to convey (which is how to survice a plane crash)

I really like line and what it can do and that "drawn" quality but now i am starting to get more into the pop-arty-comic kinda thing so i want to be able to keep both aspects with out losing one or the other. because now i am doing these totally different paintings with color...so i dont know. i am trying to find that subtle element of humor.

This subject matter really engages me alot more than the abstract work you have done. What I find most appealing is the quasi-instructional narrative quality of this series. This KISS masks are really out of place and I think that is why they work so well in the last image in this set.

I don't know, the KISS masks lose it for me. I like the idea of referencing the safety info without having to push the humor. Out of context, it becomes humerous without you having to add much!
