Aug 20 Fundraiser for Globe artists

Posted some photos from Saturday's community event in Globe on my gallery page if you're interested. The entire block between the Pioneer Hotel and the Cobre Valley Art Center was the site for a giant Block Party that lasted well into the night. The Miami Rotary Club was out in force, firing up an impressive lineup of backyard bbq grills and providing loads of homemade potato salad and baked goodies for the crowd. The food lines moved quickly but extended across the entire block for about 3 hours - an amazing show of community support for the businesses lost in the hotel fire. Lots of live entertainment, dancing, a community sing-along and fun for all. The Globe theater marquee still stands with the message "We'll Be Back - Thanks for Your Support".

A silent auction is planned for mid-September, if you would like to donate items I would be glad to deliver them to Globe on my next visit September 4. Many thank to all who've already donated cash for Frank and Nora's canvas and paint fund! Your efforts are much appreciated. Lisa
