 We have upgraded the hardware on ARTish to enhance performance and bring you a faster and more stable website! Enjoy!

We are beginning a full redesign of the site. Some new enhancements include:
* Phoenix area Gallery and Studio maps
* a new navagation system focused on ease of use
* audio uploading capability for bands, musicians, sound artists
* built-in audio and video player as well as streaming capabilities for internet radio
* video uploading capability for video artists and filmmakers
* the ability to sell your work directly from the site
As I'm sure you can imagine this is going to take a lot of work and a lot of money.
Being how ARTish is FREE, we are in dire need of donations to accomplish this feat.

The site continues to grow, yet many of you who take advantage of the site are not helping to contribute monetarily. Unfortunately like most things, ARTish does cost money to run. We have NO other source of income other than donations from our members and site visitors.
It takes tremendous amounts of time and energy to keep this going, especially now with ARTish the MAGAZINE. Without the support of our members, we cannot continue to sustain ARTish. We continue to fall further into debt as the donations become fewer in number.
Your donations are ESSENTIAL to keeping the site existing as a place for you to display your work, to interact with your community, and to read about local ARTists, venues, and other ART's related news stories.
You will notice that other sites of this nature charge a monthly or yearly fee for the exact same service you get here for free. If everyone donated $15-$25 a year, this site could continue on indefinitely.
Please, if you are able to, donate to help keep ARTish alive!
We are a non-profit organization completely supported by you, the members.
Many organizations have web sites, equipment, services and internet bandwidth donated by it's members. We pride ourselves on being run and owned as a community while providing a service to the community. This means that we need you to be a part of that community.

ARTish - the magazine! |
|
The Magazine – a new feature set to launch June 1, 2005, the ARTish magazine will bring dynamic content to the site to keep readers and viewers coming back for more!
By taking regular periodical content, and lacing it with multimedia presentations such as video segments and audio links, we are determined to foster a creative way to inform our audience.
We intend to cover the following areas: Local Art News, Articles on artists and venues, Interviews with artists and people from the local arts community, Reviews of art shows and art spaces, Critical Theory, Editorial Commentary and Creative Writing.
The ARTish magazine will be a produced by a cooperative of writers, some of them who have their own periodical projects, and others who are seeking an outlet for their voice. This model will not only provide the writers with another channel, but also help them propagate their own projects through ARTish.
The publication, like the site as a whole, is a community entity where members of the community direct the content. If you are interested in writing, please send example to tonyash@artish.org.

Sub Albums Working! |
|
Sub Albums in your galleries are now working properly!
You can go into YOUR GALLERY and create a sub album. To do this follow these instructions:
- Make sure you are logged in (LOG IN)
- Click on YOUR ACCOUNT->YOUR GALLERY
- In the upper right drop down menu choose "NEW NESTED ALBUM"
- Your new nested album (a.k.a. sub album) will be created with the title "Untitled"
- Click on the "Navigate Up" button in the upper right corner next to "Album: yourname"
- You should now be in the root of your gallery.
- To change the name of your new sub album click the "Edit Album" drop down menu underneath it and choose "Edit Title"
- Now to move images or video files into your new album, click the "Edit Photo" or "Edit Movie" drop down menu under them and choose "Move Photo" or "Move Movie". In the popup window choose the sub album you wish to move the selected item to.
- You are finished! You can also choose to edit the description of the album, or choose a differnet highlighted image for the album. These options are available in the drop down menus under the album and photos.

Over the past 2 months the site has grown tremendously, in the same time period we have received $0 in donations. This site is expensive to keep running, as we are by no means independently wealthy.
It takes tremendous amounts of time and energy to keep this going, and without the support of those involved, it cannot continue to sustain itself. Currently we are in the hole to the tune of about $750.
